Collaborative Consultant in Discovery & Transformation
Saskatoon, SK
Brian Hoessler (he/him) often follows his curiosity, whether it’s in exploring a city, learning a new skill, or building connections with a group, organization, or community. He has the privilege of indulging this interest through his day job as the founder and principal consultant of Strong Roots Consulting, a social-purpose business that supports changemakers in navigating complexity. Using his superpowers in strategic planning, organizational capacity building, and program evaluation, Brian helps cultivate learning and growth, connect ideas and people, and catalyze change towards a more equitable world.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, Brian’s experience living in Toronto as a young adult awakened an interest in cities and all the facets that go into them, from physical infrastructure to social communities to how we understand and play with the idea of “place”. This focus sharpened further through the Masters program in the applied field of Community Psychology (Wilfrid Laurier University) and further life experiences in Kingston and Ottawa. Saskatoon, on Treaty 6 territory and the traditional homelands of the Métis, has been home for him since 2012.
In his spare time, Brian enjoys improving his photography skills, playing trombone and drums, pursuing various geeky interests, and spending time in community and with his partner Carolyn and their pug Gizmo.
