Andrea is a graduate of Calgary’s Young Canadians, the University of Calgary Program of Dance and the Rozsa Foundation Arts Management Programs. Artistic Producer for Footprints Dance Project Society of Alberta for the last 10 years, she has spent most of her career working with vulnerable youth to help them find their unique creative voice and democratize participation in the arts.
Working as a professional arts programmer over the last 25 years, Andrea has a diverse arts background in professional, recreational and educational performing arts. She has developed and managed dance education programs for the City of Calgary – Wildflower Arts Centre, St Margaret’s School, Footprints Dance Project and Ballet Victoria. Currently, she is collaborating with a dance researcher at the University of South Florida to build tools for inclusive movement instruction.
Andrea is a classically trained dancer. Her choreographic work has varied from musicals to traditional ballets to contemporary dance on both film and stage. Her dance film CEA was part of the Cultural program at the Canadian Cultural Pavilion, Expo 2010 in Shanghai.
Well versed in both the non-profit and government sectors, she is interested in advancing systematic changes, finding inspired solutions to our current challenges. She is thrilled to be a part of the Rethink Urban Collective.
